There is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms in parts of northwest Texas and western and central Oklahoma, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threats. A trough moving across the Desert Southwest will bring a mid-level jet into the southern Plains, resulting in isolated convective development along a dryline in west Texas northward into western Kansas. Supercell development is possible with weak instability in place and strong speed shear. The most favorable area for severe storms will be from northwest Texas extending northeastward into north-central Oklahoma, with a wind damage threat that could linger into the overnight.
