I have two solenoid valves (S1 and S6) - in a T configuration. When S1 is manually started. Water run & shut normally. However, when I turn S6 on manually both, both branch of the T has water running through with S1 manually turned off. My controller is an 8 Station unit. Same issue if I manually turn on the other stations. I've replace S1 solenoid and it still does it. I suspect that the 24VAC supply to the valve may have a broken wire somewhere. How do one test the function of the valve without having to do it from the controller and get showered in water. To make matter difficult I do not have much information as to how the whole system has been set-up or where the other 6 solenoid valves are situated - I Bought the residence 10 months ago. In other words I am stabbing in the dark. S1 is a TORO 2400MT-R, Part 15-9104. TQ.

HI, I'm not following what you are trying to describe. Can you please clarify your exact question?

@@Andy_Humphrey Let me explain what I meant --T- configuration - Water coming in from bottom of T. One solenoid valve on each side of the T - Station S1 on the left, Station S6 on the right. Switch S1 on, water flow through. Turn S1 OFF - No water. Switch S6 on water come through on both valve, S1 & S6 instead of only S6 S1 & S6 also start water pump. Stations, 2&3, 4&5, 7&8 are similarly paired T-configuration. When Station 2,3,4,5, 7 & 8 is turned individually each time water still flow through S1. I can sent a sketch if you still cannot comprehend what I am trying to explain. Tell me where to sent it to.

@@laurencelim5078 thanks for the clarification. Might be hard to diagnose some thing like this remotely, if you’re interested, we could schedule time together. calendly.com/andyhumphrey/technical-support I would start by testing the voltage at S1, to be sure it is operating, electrically, and not hydraulically due to the valve not closing all the way.. Does S1 always come on with every zone? Could it be wired to the master valve terminal? If it seems that it’s electrical, then there could be some wires spliced incorrectly somewhere in the system. It might be a good idea to disconnect, everything, and starting at the controller, test continuity to each valve, and be sure the wire at the controller only is connected to one valve each.

@@Andy_Humphrey Thanks Andy, I've found a local company that specialised in TORO equipment. ALL the solutions offered, such as changing the diaphram, did not solved the problem. Finally, I asked myself what is the function of the ON-OFF lever on the side where the solenoid is mounted. I turned it fully ON, problem still there. I turned it to OFF. The problem went away. It's been good since. The benefit, I gave the valve and all the internal components, a good, "overhaul" and clean.

@@laurencelim5078 awesome, the answer was right in front of us the whole time! Yes, the valve solenoids should be in the OFF position. ON is for manually watering. You should keep it that way and test your contractor’s knowledge/skills, lol.

Question: I have water coming out of my toro valve around the lid when water is off. I turn water on at the valve and no leak??? Help

Hi Russ. The dynamic water pressure when the valve is on might be lower and you don’t see the leak. I would first shut off the water at the main (backflow), remove the bonnet (valve top) and check for and cracks or debris. In advance of this I would also recommend buying a replacement valve so that you have all of the spare parts in the event it is still leaking. Give us a call if you would like more assistance. -Andy

why didn't you tell us what the ON and OFF toggle switch does and what should it be set to during normal working operating conditions?

Sorry, looks like we missed that in the video! That bleed handle under the solenoid allows the valve to be manually operated by turning the lever counter clockwise until you feel the stop. For normal operation, that handle should be fully clockwise until you feel resistance.

I’m confused on this on/off bleed handle as well. How does it turn? It doesn’t turn, am I supposed to lift it out and place it in a certain direction?
