They need to get rid of the platform. I weight 240lbs and the front end lifts of the ground when I stand on it in the show room and pull back. Imagine up a hill. Standing between the and over the wheels is a much better design for traction and holding hills. The Ferris Z2 or Z3 will beat tho on a hill hands down

One of the most forward thinking companies. If you do a lot of snow these are great for sidewalks. Toro has been catching my eye more and more. It's horrible to find employees to do sidewalks in the winter so anything that helps me get through that pain in the behing im all for.

I don't like that it does not have fenders. Grass is going to fly everywhere and it will be bad in damp or wet grass. Way too long for a Stand-On, The platform sticks out the back instead of being in between the wheels and is too narrow considering the length. All this adds up to not very good hill stability in theory. All that aside I still like the cut quality of these units.
@mikeallover

I just watched some videos on the grandstand and it does really good on hills surprisingly. The 52" and 60" is good on hills in all directions but on the smaller decks the front tends to pop up going uphill so it would be good idea to add weights in the front for hill work.

That won’t hold hills at all because the operator is standing behind the axle so the weight is spread out like your Lazer Z. The wrights you stand on the axle which makes the mower able to handle the hills amazingly

Owen Mitzel I haven’t found a hill mine can’t handle. I may have to jump off for a couple seconds then get back on but not very often. It hasn’t slipped at all mowing hills ‘side to side.’ It will mow up any hill, down is a different story.

The greatest benefit to the Grandstand is Toro's Recycler kit. I run it on my 52" most of the year, cuts like bagged in most conditions. I remove it in summer when some lawns need the extra airflow of high lift blades to stand up and get cut crisp.

Toro have you lost your minds. This has to be the worst engine layout I have seen. There is no protection to the front of the block. The first low tree or bush will rip out the fuel lines short out wiring and catch fire. Thicker stuff will smash the muffler and air filters. Toro you need a front guard on this thing which can be taken off when not mowing. Fit one and I would seriously consider it but until then definately not.

Things that move need to be greased. The longevity of any moving part relies on the reduction of friction. If I grease it, like my old vehicles, it gives me the opportunity to inspect my equipment in a more detailed fashion.

Thanks for doing these videos. As a owner and looking into purchasing more zero turns or a stand on in the near future these videos comparing lawn brands have been very informative. One big question for you and this is my big problem is that where I live there is only deere, exmark and Toro. Nearest ferris or gravely is an hour. If you have problems with one of your new mowers would you rather have a close local dealer or one that offers a different brand but is an hour away?
@BriansLawnMaintenance
6 жыл бұрын
Dealer first, brand second. But if a BIG dealer can get you in and out faster, then some small local ma and pa, than I’d drive an hour for the bigger dealer who has more parts on hand and staff to help me. Exmark and Toro have good warranty service, I do know that. Hope that helps!
