I have one I have good luck with toro products I bought it in around 2000 .the only thing I have done is change the rubber flapper once. Almost time to do them again. It runs great I start all my gas equipment every month so they start with no problems

I had the pleasure of working on one of these as well. Great snowthrower units!! I love the barrel auger with the three rubber paddles. I believe these engines/carbs are similar to the 3650s also made by Toro. Excellent price! Gratz Dave, and thanks for posting.

Thank you! I haven’t started my snow blower in two seasons and I just gave up. Until I saw this video!! All this time, the only thing wrong was the primer hose was loose from the carb. Thank you for this simple but effective video!!!

Question: I got a tach so I can set speeds at a professional level when I restore equipment. I've easily been able to find specs for things like chainsaws. I just got a Ryobi BP 42 backpack blower tuned really well (after cleaning out the carb, which seems to have been the problem with a screen clogged with paraffin) and no amount of Googling turns up any specs. I assume the Low is probably around 3000 RPMs, give or take a couple hundred, but have no idea what the High RPMs should be. I suspect it won't be nearly as high as a chainsaw and maybe in the range of a string trimmer but I really want to set it just right so I protect the equipment no matter what. Any suggestion as to an approximate High end range? Even better, could you direct me to a source for that information? Right now I have the High set at around 7000 and the Low is set at around 2700 and those seem to be the sweet spots. Of course I've backed off on the High end to not run too lean, but the adjustment on this machine is very tweaky and I could be off because I just don't have enough experience to know exactly what it should sound like, even though I do know what four-stroking sounds like on a chainsaw. Thanks a lot for reading!

I love these machines. I bought one just to do my paver stone driveway I'm quicker with it then my heavy beast that is 27" wide. Even though it weighs 100+ pounds it almost self propels itself as the paddles pull along. Very easy maneuverability it's like walking with a snow shovel without doing any heavy lifting. It also works better with slushy snow.

Tried mine out for the first time yesterday. It wasn’t great in the slush… and it would really buck hard when it hit a sidewalk crack. Any tips to lower that?

@@DavesSmallEngines I don't have sidewalk so I wouldn't know. Are you pulling down on the handle that it tilts it in more? Cause you don't need to do that unless u want to scrape right down to the pavement
