TORONTO - Toronto police say a cache of explosives has been found in an east-end storage locker.
A police spokesman says the unknown explosive was found Wednesday evening by Durham region police executing a search warrant.
The explosives are being transported to the Toronto waterfront for safe detonation.
Service on the Scarborough RT and Stouffville GO Transit lines was shut down briefly during the investigation.
Police evacuated the area and shut down the transit lines when the substance was discovered.
The police spokesman says tactical officers from the Emergency Task Force were called to the scene to transport the explosive substance.
