Thank you Leo for showing the world and the you tube community a good and proper way to build a wood boat that will last generations. Some of the saddest videos I see are those of people spending years to build their boats with substandard materials thinking everything will be fine not realizing the dramatic effect it will have in the life of their boats. The true cost of a boat is not so much in the materials but in the labor to assemble it. You are showing the world a masterpiece in creation. Well done sir and I hope to see you in port townsend some day.

To Leo and the crew, you guys have done a fabulous job. I can clearly see why the long sanding boards are called torture boards. I wouldn't last 15 minutes. My shoulders would give out. The idea of working a torture board for an entire day is unimaginable but I have to say that the results seem to come quickly as the hull becomes truly fair with no lines, blemishes, high or low spots. The end result looks fabulous. A big round of applause goes to all the people who slaved away varnishing and sanding the inside of the hull and as with the outside it looks fabulous. Before you know it you guys will be applying a coat of paint to the outside of the hull. Leo, all the best in finding the perfect supply of wood for your deck. Having watched these videos from the beginning, I cańt express how great it is to see the inside of that hull. It is absolutely beautiful. Also glad to hear Leo say how satisfying trimming bungs is. As I was watching him do it, I was thinking that is looked like it would be really satisfying.

The interior really does pop, the result of many hours of varnishing, sanding and varnishing...but it looks fantastic...great work!

varnishing the inside like this is beautiful, but it shortens the life of the boat...wood needs to breath in a damp and wet environment...your craftsmenship is TOP NOTCH!!!

Leo, you might try contacting Duke in CT again. He sourced the deck timber for the rebuild of the Charles Morgan at the Mystic Shipyard.

Absolutely love that inside varnish work. Such a beautiful way to protect and enhance all the fine wood and riveting. Le Tonkinois is the ideal varnish for that job - great choice!

That interior is looking very pretty. Nice to stop and savor the view now, while you can still see all of the wood, before it gets painted over and the cabin built over it. It'll never look this way again!
