In the pre-trial detention center of Irkutsk virtually all kinds of torture and torture are legalized in order to force defendants to give confessions in criminal cases. The heroes of the film told that as a result of almost tortuous torture, several suspects perished. Victims of torture were mayors, deputies of elected authorities, politicians, former and current law enforcement officials, as well as ordinary people who were suspected of a crime. As a result of the use of "unconventional" means and methods of inquiry, the Irkutsk region has become one of the five best regions for the detection of serious and particularly serious crimes (!)
In the film "Torture of prisoners in the Irkutsk sezo," they used shooting a hidden camera in the courtroom and filmed torture in the cell of the detention center.
The authors of the film and Russian human rights activists ask the officials such questions:
- Do the right of protection and personal security that have come to the remand center exist? If yes, then why have not any of the deaths in SIZO-1 of Irkutsk been investigated and no one found guilty of the death of the accused?
- Do the accused have the right, while in custody, to exercise their constitutional right to refuse to testify and to have their own position in a criminal case that differs from the position of the investigation?
