For the ones wondering it: Both come from a company born in 1947 and shut down in 1954 called Auto Sandal, they made 192 cars in total and these are two of the three existing today. The grey one is a 1953 Auto Sandal 348cc, while the green one is a 1952 Auto Sandal FS

@@alfazagato1455 I started by searching "1940s/1950s kei cars", kei cars are those ridiculously small but cool japanese cars made for city, then after lots of scrolling in google images I found a picture of the green one. After that I did some researching on the pic and the name "Auto-Sandal" popped out, so I typed that in and the Wikipedia page appeared as a beacon of hope

My snapper lawn mower was the same as the second car when it came to shifting a spinning metal disk and a movable wheel. Actually very simple and reliable except when it got wet.

Loads of fun if you changed engines and didn't put the drive disc the right spot on the shaft.
Those cars should be in a museum or an exhibition they're so cool they look like out of WW2 or something

cars Sandal FN & FS 349 cc - 1952 by Auto Sandal Motor Company. After the poverty left by WWII, the Japanese government authorized the production of mini cars.

@@videotecaplanetaria2317 Thank you for the info, it's appropriately named even, a sandal being smaller then a shoe ❤.

@@killerdinamo08 Sure! In 1950 Japan tried to stimulate car manufacturing by introducing the Kei regulation . The ‘Kei’ was a small car that was exempted from the 'Shakoshomei' rule, which required car owners to proof that they owned a parking place. Kei had also other minor benefits. Kei cars engines were limited to 150cc, later 300cc and eventually in 1953 360cc.

The green car is really cool! Both with the kick-starter and the constantly variable friction drive! That's awesome! And it's got some great patina too!
