I can't like the album All is Vanity, that's his worst album. I also dislike most of the "Reasons for Thousand Lovers" album, besides Okinawa, Knock On My Door, and maybe Cinderella

歌謡曲位しか知らなかった中学生当時、私も心からそう思ってました。 が、何人もの人がコメントしてるけど、 ちょっと音楽聴くようになるとAOR、コンテンポラリーソウルのド定番whatcha gonna do for meの丸パクりであることに気づき、恥ずかしい思いをしました。 彼のような職人的ポジションのシティポップ系アーティストの主要作品ですら、そういうのいくらでも出てきます。 リスペクトやモチーフならいいけど、リズムやフックとなる骨格的要素を明らかに借用してるのは萎えるし、 先を行くどころか10年近く前の手垢のつきまくったスタンダードを上塗りしただけで、堂々とフレッシュな新曲のようにリリースできるのはリスナーをなめてる証拠。カバーの方がまだ潔いと思う。

Love that slick synth sound production of the late 80's early 90's. Reminds of stuff Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and others were putting out around this time. I also like hearing what this era sounded like musically in other countries.
