Tossene is a small village in Bohuslän, a region in Västra Götalands Region, about 100km north from Göteborg in West-Sweden.
Tossene church was built in 1859 in neo-classical style. The church was restored in 2018. It is surrounded by a bronze age graveyard. The Vikings were also active in these area, many archeological finds and excavations bear witness to this.
The church has been in use by the parish until April 2024 and is now sold to private people, who want to use it as a cultural centre and concert hall while preserving the full interior as well as the church bells.
In the massive church tower, two bronze bells are hanging in a wooden bell frame. The smaller bell is much older than the church itself. It is not documented how the bell found its way to Tossene.
