05:35 "When you attack it - I mean when you open the back!" 😂😂😂 Great video, Mike! I'm super interested in that Miyota movement because of what we discussed about that MB&F upside-down watch with the Miyota movement. Very cool that you got your "hands" on a single-direction-wind Miyota so soon after that conversation! That's what I love about this hobby! It's endlessly interesting!

Yes, watches are a never ending conversation, aren't they?! I forgot that the M.A.D. watch was based on the Miyota. Maybe a display back and a tri-blade MAD Max winding pendulum (with lume) can be retrofitted to the Citizen? 😁 I learned that the Miyota 8200 is still in production in new watches. Going on 25 years. Pretty amazing!

I absolutely love these old Citizens! Sub $20 it was a steal! I have 4 vintage ones. While watching this I decided to polish up one (a Citizen Parawater) that has a scuffed up crystal and change its bracelet to a beads of rice one that fits my 8 inch wrist. The bracelet is old I will have to sand it sometime and replate it but it looks much better! Yours on the other hand looks like a pro fixed it! That "ring" would fit Sauron! I like the thicker crystal! It adds to the aesthetic! Nearly panicked with you with the hair on the outside haha! Well done Mike! This looks amazing!

@WatchWithMike
7 ай бұрын
Great question! There are several numbers on the watch, other than the serial number...and none of them seem to point to a specific model. Here's what the watch says: Dial - 8200-064698 SMS Watch back - 4-164784 SMT, GN-4-W-S, 71-0081 More answer than perhaps you were hoping for, and that's probably why I didn't say the model definitively in the video! 😁

Oh you made me cringe when you use your tweesers to clean the case. Doing that may use the tips of them and you need them to pick up fine tings. You kind of kick your self in the but when you do that lol. I love the dial on that watch, it's fantastic a golden sunburst dial lovely. Check it if that finger you found inside wasn't a part of it. The bracelet has joined by growing collection of parts for future watches! The Speidel bracelet wasn't original to the watch, and I wanted something that was a little bit thicker. I must've tried at least half a dozen different color leather bands until I settled on the brown one. (It was my wife's favorite, so that was a bonus!) 😄
