What an incredible experience it was to witness and photograph the total solar eclipse in Dallas, TX! After days of stressing out about the cloudy weather forecast, the clouds thinned out just in time for a gorgeous viewing experience. In fact, they even added an extra element of beauty to the scene - a shimmering veil of speckled white across the dark blue daytime sky.
The varying thickness of cloud cover also allowed the camera to see both brighter and darker features of the eclipse (outer corona vs prominences) without having to do a bracketed exposure, and the thick cloud at the end of totality allowed us to continue viewing it without glasses for a few more seconds - so it was actually blessing in disguise!
(I bumped the camera at the start of totality oops, but got everything else in the video!)
