I agree totally that Hoijberg should be given due respect for his time at the club. Just because he didn't turn out to be the correct fit in an Ange ball system shouldn't detract from his previous game time, and to be fair, his fill-in role under Ange itself. I, for, one, certainly wish him all the best and think Marseille is a great choice. Even if he didn't have the French connection. "Have you ever been to Poughkeepsie boy?" 😬

@Funnyhowthings nonsensical how? It was a quote made by Gene Hackman playing the role of Popeye Doyle in the film The French Connection. He is interrogating somebody and apparently came up with that line unscripted. The place does exist, so although random and certainly off the subject, it was in response to Alistaires comment. Nonsensical, I guess, in so far as it was nonsensical in the interrogation.🫤 Apologies if you know the film and are just pointing out that it was a bizarre thing for him to say at the time, and yes, it is a great quote in that case. 😃

If people haven’t worked out how Ange work I think he is building the club inside out by that I mean he will sign senior players if they are available and comply to his way of paying in the mean time he is building a Young Group that will play exactly the way he wants them to when they are in their advance (20+ yrs old) years. Let’s watch and see in the next 2/3 yrs if he is given that long.

Hi Alistair just thought I would comment on the friendly against QPR that I watch on Spursplay, I thought they played well again and as you said its all looking good, not as comfortable as the Hearts game but I think that QPR played better but we don't want it all our way because the players won't learn anything like that but I was still impressed with the way we played, you said the game Saturday was behind closed doors but I'm sure it's on Spursplay again. And I did enjoy your Podcast again.

A cynical view is that Tottenham love their Korean fans & this signing sures up the fan base for years to come. However, Korean's are hard working, & generally fast & strong so at $3M is a no brainer.

Big up lads, I’m surprised they would sign this young kid and then have him play against us ! That’s lot of pressure for an 18 yr old. I think they’ll find a way of maybe just letting him come on for short cameo at the end.

Alasdair and Rob, he can’t dribble on the edge of the box because when he did (like during a corner last year can’t remember the game) and get caught the fans kill him and say he is not good enough. I think that was the issue for the rest of the team on 2nd half because if you lose the ball in Ange system with FB’s up, it can be issue.

@FranktheFurt

From my understanding, based on a video Ali did a little while back, Ange’s comments were Academy wide. There’s players from the U21’s + Mikey Moore with great potential but I think he and the new sporting staff are thinking the U18’s and lower grades are lacking. Hence the exciting signings the academy has been doing this summer.
