We are 78 and 83 yrs old, married Christians….hungry for the Word. Your teaching brings it so alive and understandable! You are a blessed teacher! I have been following a Nomad family ( with no drama) in Iran….I mostly love watching the culture and way they live which to me is so similar to biblical times….it helps me understand scripture in some instances….I pray for them…….well, Bless you! We will be back!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

What an excellent teaching and discussion, Nasser. Thank you for posting it. Reminds me of 2 Chronicles/Dibrey Ha’Yamim 16:9: “For the Eyes of YHWH diligently search throughout all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.” 💜

How did your family react when you converted?

Different members of my family had different reactions. Almost immediately after hearing what had happened to me, one of my brothers and my sister chose to follow Christ as Lord (my mother also joined us, but more than 20 years later). The rest of the family was quite unhappy with my decision (which I totally understood) and broke off relationship with me, and some of them wanted me to be put to death (again, I understand why and don't hold this against them). In the 27 years since my conversion, I've met many others from my background who have also become Christians and have discovered that my experience is fairly typical.

Shalom Nasser, Quite a while back I read that in the time of Yahushua it was shameful for a woman to let her hair down, and was equated with being topless, in other words bearing her breast. Does that resonate with the culture of the time in your opinion? Thank you for your teaching it helps so much in my understanding. Also hearing the names of those mentioned in scripture pronounced correctly is refreshing to say the least. Be blessed.

Shalom! From my understanding, based on what I've read (and just checked again) in the Talmud, what's important is that women (whether married or not) keep her hair completely covered in public to avoid shame or "nakedness". Since long hair was a considered beautiful those days, then I think it's safe to assume that it would be easier to keep your hair covered if it was done "up" in some way rather than hanging loose. Does that make sense?
