It's a great time for them I just bought a Celica with 2zz and full service history for 1400. By Summer I will have 2zz mr2 and Celica 1zz daily driver both on road for under 5000 :)

@@anunknowndude 1zz is evolution of 4age .Just same as 4age but little faster 2zz is nothing but overrated crap ,that is harder to modify when it comes to turbo builds .Block and crankshaft are better in 1zz.99% celica turbo builds that you gonna see are GT (1zz) . And yeah if 2zz is that good? Why it isn't stock in MR-S . Just look even at the torque . 1zz is even better in that field .GT celica is lighter too . So if you like track or touge , go with 1zz GT . If you like to be "Straight road racing" guy go with 2zz , even if it's not much faster ,like 1 sec . I'm not even triggered or anything , because I typed all this .I'am just sick of illiterate 'car' people

@@tapatap8005 It didnt come stock because 2zz is a much more *precise engine to engineer compared to a 1zz. It just comes down to cost really, the 2zz is pricey to manufacture compared to 1zz. MR2 was always designed with being a light, affordable, mid engine 2 seater that your average guy could buy, hence why they had to drop in the "shit" 1zz, use mcpherson strut suspension over double wishbone etc. Called the 2zz overrated isnt fair, you know exactly what you get when you buy it, 50 more hp from 6000 rpm onwards given you've done intake and exhaust correctly. Turboing1zz or 2zz generally comes with a low ceiling for performance because of high compression and gearboxes made out of glass. 2zz is a great engine to place in the mr-s because it only weighs 10kg or so more than the 1zz retaining great weight distribution for more power. Also its easy to swap in, even if 2zz swaps are being phased out because of so many other options right now.

i sure no body observed that when he pulled handbrake when his mrs was understeering . i have done that in my car and is the best you can do when your car is not turning and understeer . so glad that my theory confirmed in this video ❤❤

I can't really see why the Miata loses control at 10:40 I noticed its just after a downshift, then right when he starts losing control the pitch of the engine drops a lot. Was that a mis-shift upsetting the rear wheels? Or did he just come into the corner too hot?

From what I can see definitely looks like he came in too hot, had to brake more which caused more weight to shift to the front causing oversteer.

I'm guessing that he mis-shifted and broke traction as he let off the clutch. He also looked like he had some crazy speed considering how slow the upcoming corner was.

It's my second car, but I agree, the W30 is forgiving enough to have as a first(if you have brains ofc). It's a load of fun, but I do get the urge to modify it after a while, setup is a bit too soft in the rear from factory(the reason why it's forgiving).

@@alansmilealot Not all about straight line power. Weight is a crucial factor of which a turbo conversion adds a significant amount.
