You’ve got skills to pay the bills my bro! I am completely new to body work and just do a bit of tinkering on an old car that doesn’t matter to much if I make a mistake. But it’s great to watch a skilled man doing what he’s good at. Keep up the good work and I look forward to more videos

Thank you. It was about a fortnight’s worth of filming put into this video. I also got incredibly sick around the time I had the drivers side dogleg cut to bits and was bed ridden for 4-5 days, so I moved a little slower after that! Lol

Great work. HQ's have some very subtle shapes that many people don't even notice. Ugly quarter panel created a lot of work, may have been easier to replace it?
@TheRestoShed
2 ай бұрын
Chances are any replacement quarter panel would have needed just as much work, it would’ve been a lot more work to replace it than repair it. (for me anyway)

Bloody Fantastic to see and the standard of work youve done is Brilliant !!!!I used to see all these tradesman do this when I was a young fella Very few left Im afraid just "bog fillers" Who taught you so well ? You have a gift keep on using it 👍👍Cheers for the Vid
@TheRestoShed
Ай бұрын
I am self taught. I get what you mean by your bog fillers comment, it’s a product that gets abused quite regularly. A body like this will be skim coated bumper to bumper to pick up the last 5% of irregularities in the body, but the end result will be sharper and straighter than any production vehicle.

Not sure what size mig wire you use, and also not sure if you’ve ever seen or used them when you are cutting off a panel your welding back on but you can get 0.6mm cutting discs. Look and feel super sketchy but they cut really nice

Brilliant work as always Kyle. Just curious as to what paint stripper you use?? The Supercheap auto stuff is as good as water
@TheRestoShed
2 ай бұрын
I think it was just the Diggers brand paint stripper, nothing special - just bought from the hardware store. I’ve found most paint strippers work, it’s really what you’re stripping that plays the big part in how effective it will strip.

excellent video , my suggestion would be to slow down some sections of your video and allocate more time showing how you make the patch panels , and more time showing the spot welding in real time .... .the time laps is great but maybe not all the way through .. also im an older dude and cant quite make out some of the things your say as your voice is very soft .. this is not a critique just a suggestion ... keep up the great work , i wish i had your skills ..amazing
@TheRestoShed
Ай бұрын
I appreciate the constructive criticism, unfortunately the Timelapse is just the easiest approach for me as far as filming goes, it’s hard enough doing both the filming and the work! KZitem does have the option of slowing the video down in the options tab. Can’t do much about the voice either 😆

Only the dogleg will need modification, it’s only a 29” tall tyre after all and the car isn’t at ride height.
