Sometimes anglers might face one another and ask the question, what else can we do to trick a carp into a bite?
Then we should remember that a carp needs to survive on a daily basis, and will do its level best not to be caught. Cornelius had one of these sessions, that made him think how to outsmart the fish.
For the first few days we didn't see any activity of carp, making us think that the carp might be somewhere else. Moving to a different location that looked very promising, brought excitement on the boat. However that excitement faded away and another move was on the cards,
BOOM! Cornelius had a solid run with the alarm creating havoc on the boat, only a few hours after we anchored the boat again. He jumped onto the inflatable to retrieve the fish in tricky waters, which to his luck was worth it as the carp managed to snag itself.
A sigh of relieve was on the face of Cornelius, when he moored back onto the houseboat.
"Mission accomplished" with a healthy 40 pounder, that fell to a small tigernut topped with a white fake maize. The rig was nothing fancy, a simple blowback rig tied with our new-and-improved Boilie hook.
