We New Englanders take great pride in our piles of rocks. 😄 Kind of a trophy for our hard work digging.

My husband built a house in Brewster in 1986 and we used it as a second home for 15 years and sold it in 2004. I love Cape Cod and miss it so much. We moved to Georgia for the warmth and we have a beautiful home with flowers and shrubs everywhere. It's much easier to garden in the warm weather. Shortly after we left the Cape, they had a 38" snowstorm!

Thank you for taking us round your lovely garden Ann. I would also love to see your garden in the summer. One last thing, how wonderful to have all the trees around you. All the different birds you must hear n the wild life coming into your garden for a wander n odd nibble ( that's not so great) thank you

Enjoyed the video. I'm in New England also but zone 5B here in Maine. But Interesting to see some plants I have like the Rythmic Blue Hydrangea. I am so much more like you though. A plant collector. I know my garden is a hodge podge of sorts but I just love plants and can't resist getting a lot of different kinds. The world needs both types of gardeners I think. :) Thanks for the videos. I look forward to them and you never dissapoint.

Thank you for the tour! BTW Filipendula 'Red Umbrellas' can look rather rough during its first year, but in our experience, after just one growing season to root in, the foliage looks amazing until the first hard frost. The key is to keep the ground moist, and not allow it to dry out... We particularly like mixing it with purple-leafed perennials like Astilbe Chocolate Shogun...

Coreopsis has yellow flowers and deer resistance. Irises too. It’s funny. My rabbits have ignored my huechera and deer love my hydrangeas. Local tastes I guess. The lichen looks best and kind of fluoresces after a rain. Great landscape!

Beautiful home!!! Ann did a great job! For the area you were asking for suggestions, would camellias work? I love the glossy evergreen leaves and light blush white blooms on mine. It grows slowly. I also tried a form of cedar and spruce that is a standard form last yr and surprisingly are still alive. I’m in z7. Wonder if Ann might like them for that area. It is like a lollipop topiary with a less tightly clipped more textured look. Hope Ann will share spring and summer tour as well.

Camellias occurred to me too. They love acid and were not deterred by humidity in New Orleans. Don't know about deer resistance. Don't think wind would bother them since they survive hurricanes.

I’m over here scratching my head that the deer don’t bother Ann’s hydrangeas 🤯! For the corner that you asked for suggestions, how about a ‘Crimson Queen’ in the center of corner by the entrance & gutter downspouts, then PW ‘Fluffy Arborvitae’ on the corner where you suggested something pyramidal, then under the window a row of say 3 ‘Shi Shi’ dwarf Camellia.

Loved this tour. I seen geranium in the side flowerbed? Does it make it through the winter or does she replant one in the spring? Also love the bird feeder area. Would love to see her flowerbeds again in the spring time. Thank you for sharing with us.
