I'm sorry, but its hardly a tour of the Llangollen canal when 23 minutes of it are in England and they don't get to Llangollen itself. I have walked that whole stretch and they missed so much.
@steviejgalfie

Well it was a view of the canal from the start all the to the aqueduct so what do you think is missing? The canal isn't just in Wales you know
@johnwilson1163

The Llangollen canal follows the Dee valley through to the town of Llangollen itself. Along the way there are beautiful views of the river Dee and the valley to the left as one progresses towards the town and similarly beautiful views to the right of the Panorama , the mountains and Castell Dinas Bran (commonly known as Crow Castle). That you could say was what was missing. Once there you can see horse drawn pleasure boats in addition to the town which also has a heritage railway which runs from the town to Corwen. One can also tie up for the night at Llangollen basin. You can then go a few miles further up and then go on by foot to the start of the canal and the Horseshoe falls. In addition a few miles outside the town are the historic house of Plas Newydd and the ruins of Valee Crucis Abbey. So much in one small area.

What happens if the boat hits the thin wall?

Luckily you just bounce back off of it. Not sure what would happen if you really hit it hard but at 4mph its not too dangerous

Try watching the 2019 one as the camera should be much better - it's very hard to steer a 65ft narrow boat and hold a hand held video camera steady at the same time. kzitem.info/news/bejne/jomdraaCnHp3ZaA - try this later version.

Nice route to see, but the crappy camera work negated any chance of getting a like from me. I quit at 14 minutes with an upset stomach from all the amateur waving around.
@steviejgalfie

it's mostly filmed on a moving canal boat which is also being sailed by the cameraman. the idea isn't perfect camera work it's to show the view as you sail the barge. not supposed to be professional so I think harsh criticism.
@ncplantdoctor
8 жыл бұрын
+steviejgalfie Of course the video is amateur and not professional. I love to watch train videos and that includes UK Heritage Roads, but I just don't watch videos made by someone who films while walking rather than with a tripod. Unless they edit well It isn't worth the time. I have seen videos from tripod mounted cameras and clamped down GoPros on narrow boats and they were fine. I've never set foot in the UK and likely will never, but I love the canals and the narrow boats and the Llangollen in particular. Perhaps if you video again you would consider a mounted camera and a bit of editing. That should resolve some of the conflict between camera and pilot duties, since the boat is far more important than the camera. Until then I'll continue exploring through You Tube.

What I think that ncplantdoctor was trying to say was that the camera was "panned" to quickly not that you need to use a tripod. Interesting pictures anyway!

Thank you for that - I am trying to pan less and edit more. Check out some of my other videos and see if they are any better. It's very hard when you are steering a 60 foot barge though
