I watched your second video yesterday and left a message. This one is just as nicely done, however, I would like to point out that what you say about granita is not correct. You say that granita predates the Romans and can be traced back to the Arabic rule of Sicily. The Romans completed their conquest of Sicily in 241 B.C., and their rule lasted until the 5th century A.D. The Arabs invaded in the 10th century A.D. and stayed about 200 years. So, way off. One thing has nothing to do with the other. In 1969 Catania was only partially destroyed, not completely destroyed. As you say, Castello Ursino was surrounded by the lava, but actually fully untouched. In any case, you two are a great couple and make everything enjoyable. Thanks.

Very cool video. That cave you went down into would have been hard for me. Good we can watch you do it. We have 3 cruises booked in 2022, but none go to Sicily. That would have happened on the Sept 2021 cruise going on right now that we had to cancel. Oh well, plenty of time to do in future.

For another sweet&spicy taste, when you arrive in Lombardy (specifically Cremona, if you want the origin place) try mostarda cremonese. It's fruit candied with a syrup made of sugar and mustard essential oils, and it's often used to accompany boiled meats and some kinds of cheese (which I reckon will go pretty well with the chili honey you tried). The good mostarda can unclog your nose just by smelling it.

@@TheGlobalExpats - very good to hear from you. I’ve been 5 times and travelled much of the island. I don’t know Agrigento well enough to make specific recommendations. Of course the temples are very famous and the Turkish steps (excuse the English names). I just love the experience of my wife’s village. One of her uncles sells fruit and vegetables from one of those tiny lorries, the fish seller shouts his catch and you can hear him across the valley and all the other life that you can imagine. A small bit of history is that the British Coal Board man actually travelled all the way to the village in the late 1950s and got some of the young men to travel to England and work the coal mines - which included another uncle, who stayed for life. Your videos are very good. Even if you become incredibly rich (!) don’t change what you do - as there are too many high end bloggers on KZitem and some of us still need the 80 Euro rooms!!! Ask any more questions if you want and all the best.

We all respect the differences on our island but we are not known for an Arab influence! Etna is mentioned in mythology Greek and Italic and naturally Sicilian! So the arabs Turks mores were only 10th 11th century the Greeks and Roman’s re Christ! Sorry u were told a lie
