Here we demonstrate the organ of the Münzgrabenkirche in Graz. Many thanks to my good and talanted friend @TheMikeOrganist for once again doing this tour of stops together with me.
Sadly the organ wasn't in perfect shape for a propper demonstration as some stops weren't working at all (Kopftrompete 4', Nachthorngedackt 16' SW) or were rather detuned. Also some of the stoptabs are basically decomposing one after another (see pictures in the video).
However, it should be possible to get a feeling of what an organ during the period after the war sounds like. As known, it was difficult to get (high quality) materials during that time. But it's best to hear for yourself if that also shows in the quality of the sound.
For this recording we were lucky/unlucky as construction works were right in front of the church, the tram lines were restored so there was no trafic at all. I guess you won't get a better/worse recording environment there anytime soon during daytime. Luckily we could record many things during the lunch break of the constructionworkers.
This is Part 2, which demonstrates the possibilitis in combinations of the organ.
