Anyone else have this strange unnerving feeling they were sitting in the throne they didn't belong in, to a king that rightfully belongs there? It was almost surreal to hear the tone of every drum and cymbal that sounded exactly like Neil's kit. I felt overwhelmed with emotion.. almost sick to my stomach, but in a good way. Either way.. outstanding video. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. It’s definitely a wonderful thing to have in your home. In one of your comments you mentioned that Neils long time drum tech assisted you in someway. I do have a question that maybe you know. When Neil played, and when you do, many of the drums start moving as if they’re on stands designed not to hold them firmly. Was that by design? I gives the feeling that the kit just comes alive when it’s played. I always love that.

Awesome job. So great to see someone pursue this replica as well as you did. If you don't mind sharing some advice, I want to ask you about the hardware and stage. For the HARDWARE (stands). I know the tripod legs are removed first, then how are they attached to the stage? Are base tubes (stands) threaded on the inside or outside? Or is a thread piece attached inside the tube, providing a male thread? For the STAGE. What is used to accept the stand? Are they threaded flanges (females) that accept the stand (male)? or vice versa? Or are you customizing with EMT fittings or collars? Are the flanges bolted or screwed into the stage? How did you measure, then execute final placement of flanges, etc? Any insight/how-to info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Very cool! On Neil's kit, however, the Roland drum modules were mounted in a rolling rack case, stage left, behind Geddy's "amps" where Gump monitored and controlled them. They weren't mounted on the kit itself. Gump changed all the sounds for each song. I understand why you did it your way : )

I want to paint my drum kit the same as your riser floor! So kool. I noticed your stands mount to the boards different from Neils, his were threaded I believe, yours appear to insert into those sleeves, was that an easier solution? I’m just curious because I’ve always wanted to build a drum board just like that, and I like the way you have it because it appears that you could probably use different stands without having to thread them. I was just curious, big fan of your videos. Thank you!
@DigitalMan_2112
2 жыл бұрын
Very good eye. No mine are not threaded. Too expensive to ship them to get threaded and ship them back. Not to mention the cost of threading them. They have sleeves but inside is an iron bar to give support to the hollow stand. So yes I can put any stand on them without the hassle of threading. If your on Facebook PM join my group “Neil Peart Drums and Drumming” and PM me and I’ll send you a video of what it looks like.

Yeah on the R30 he had a 22" but the Sabian brilliant cymbals he used on Time Machine have a "pingier" sound even though they were also 22". That may be what your hearing? The Paragons are what he used on the R30. So depends on what album or song your listening to he may be using a different Sabian cymbal type. Yes his main Hats are 13".

Yeah, it was the Time Machine tour. I noticed on here that his ride cymbal is brilliant finish which gives a 'Pingier" sound. The R30 kit has the Dull finish Paragons. Those are what i have. The 22" ride isn't very Pingy , but the Bell sounds awesome.
