Built in 1984 for Southwest Airlines and remained with them until it was retired in 2011 and donated to the Frontiers of Flight Museum. For those who do not know, this museum is on the property of Dallas Love Field. It is also Smithsonian-affiliated museum and has a great Southwest Airlines exhibit. The Spirit of Kittyhawk as you can see has been stripped of most of its seat and filled with Southwest memorabilia. A much more deserving fate than to become scrap metal. The other Southwest aircraft you see is the nose section of one of their original 737 200s,which were retired in 2005. I do not know the history behind that particular aircraft.
