The World of Interiors presents Visitors' Book with Maggi Hambling. The British artist's latest exhibition, Origins, is held at Gainsborough’s House in Suffolk, and is something of a homecoming. It was within the walls of Thomas Gainsborough’s House where Hambling first discovered oil painting - igniting an eternal love for the craft which allows her to effortlessly manifest her thoughts into existence.
As we tour the exhibition, Maggi reflects on wise words from Sir Cedric Morris which have left a lifelong impression and continue to inspire her art to this day: ‘If you’re going to be an artist, you must make your work your best friend. Whatever you’re feeling, go to your work and have a conversation with it.’ Watch the full episode of Visitors’ Book as we explore Maggi Hambling’s profound art exhibition which unites works from a period of more than six decades and delves into themes of nature, family, death, and self.
