Love when they toss down the array of stuff. It's like watching a fireworks display flat on the ground from the sky. What I learned most from these is that bowling balls bounce way higher than basketballs.

As kids my cousin and I repeated the flour soaked in gasoline drop off of a two-story concrete building on my grandmother's rural property... it was glorious... we still bring it up to this day 😆

The FAA prohibits anything to be dropped off a six-story tower so for legal reasons they used a "five-story" tower.

To be clear, the only Late Nights to air during prime time were the later anniversary specials, starting in 1988. The earlier anniversary specials had aired either during Late Night’s time slot at 12:30 am or SNL’s at 11:30 PM. The four “Prime Time Specials” occurred on Dave’s CBS Late Shows, where Dave’s Late Night clips from NBC weren’t permitted.

My mom use to tell me stories at bed time about the fruit revolting against Letterman for throwing them off the roof. I was like 4 and had no idea who Letterman was but I liked the stories xD. I still remember when the bowling ball drop happened originally, nearly 38? years ago. He was the beacon of comedy for my generation. Not quite baby boomer, but not gen-x or whatever the next fucking wave was supposed to be.
