Does AWOL have a comparable amount of visibility to other super yachts? Having watched a few of your videos I was thinking AWOL would benefit from having a stern station for docking manoeuvres. I don't know anything about boating, I just watch a little too much youtube and am interested.

I'm just an ordinary people... but always dreaming to own this kind of yacht. I'm always watch a 'boat show', 'aquaholic', and so on while lying on my bed before I sleep. I know its impossible for me to own it but, dreaming is free right... ;) And last night I found this channel and I think it a must for me to subscribe and ring the bell. Keep bringing more dream to me capt!! Kudos from Malaysia!!

Good day Tristan. Don't forget what draws many viewers. It's the old adage that if you have to ask how much the gas would cost, you can't afford the boat. Well I just can't imagine tug boats, or dry docking, or any of that. WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT COST keeps racing through my mind. Keep the numbers coming. Use the 1980's Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous as your benchmark. Candidly, impress us by comparing it to our poverty (figuratively). I love your channel. Keep up the great videos!

Why do you use tugs, depth of canal, with etc, I noticed a yacht going past you when you were tied up to take on radar and he wasn’t being towed? Are the main engines running during this towing operation? Why does AWOL have to be towed through the channel?
@DrNick1960
4 жыл бұрын
No - there is a big risk, because of the lack of depth of the water, that the engines might draw in too much mud and block the seawater strainers, which would cause the engines to overheat - that is why AWOL is being towed. (I've been in here myself - that's how I know)

Tristan are the yacht owners just sponsors of every certification available ? I do not mean that facetiously, but really there must be a limit somewhere. You could carry 4 extra guests/ or fuel with the tonnage you have in paperwork. i am a retired marine engineer,( the old school type ) so I do speak from experience. I do enjoy your channel, i also , am a bit envious of the lifestyle. we just towed oil rigs and salvaged big ships.
