They did say the passenger was detained. They have to secure the scene to make sure he doesn't attempt to use the vehicle to run, and to question him regarding the incident. There is a reason the driver ran. They want to know who he is, and why he ran. Also, they don't know if the passenger had any weapons or wants/warrants as well. That is SOP when you're in a vehicle that is involved in a high speed chase. It doesn't mean the passenger was arrested. All people who are detained are placed in handcuffs.

Not really, though... The majority of cars can reach those speeds now & everything modern has traction/stability control so there are a lot of electronics working to keep you on the road. The Charger easily reeled that Camry in multiple times, the only reason the Camry was getting any distance was because the officer had to be a lot more cautious. The moron running doesn't care about anyone around him so he can pull ridiculous moves that the officer can't.
@McGussen
5 күн бұрын
You can tell the driver doesn't actually want to get away. As somebody who's gotten away many times, you can't let off. You have to let traction control do its job and never let off the accelerator. Use both feet, keep it floored, just hit the brakes when you need to slow down...but never let off the accelerator. If it's God's will, you'll pull away, and the moment you're around a blind corner, you'll e brake slide into the hard right turn and then the cops will fly on by. Then you back up and go the other way at a regular pace. Easy peesy. If you ever let off the accelerator...you're busted and trying to get caught. Gotta think "what would Bo Duke do?"
