Thank you for the video I would always suggest purchasing original Toyota Coolant instead of this party, it is not that much more in price but you know you are using the best correct fluid possible. Sometimes using other brands can lead to premature aging if the head gasket as the Ph could be more acidly.

I have a quarter of coolant in my tank should i flush it first before putting the new coolant in?

Does it need to be a specific color antifreeze? Mine is a 2009 Highlander and I also bought an "All Makes, All Models" prediluted coolant, but my son is telling me my car needs red coolant. I'm about to check the manual, but thought someone could chime in on the matter. Thanks.

So to make a long story short, the color used to mean something, but nowadays its doesn't. Here is an article explaining what I mean. www.holtsauto.com/prestone/news/why-is-coolant-different-colours/

Your son is correct. Follow what your owner's manual says. Why listen to someone on You Tube unless it's the Car Care Nut channel which features a certified Toyota technician.

Question... When my engine is hot the coolant level of good but when I check it before starting the vehicle in the morning, it's below the minimum line. Does it need to be topped off or not?

I am not an expert but I can share my experience regarding the resoirvoir, when the engine is hot and the coolant gets hot it expands, that is why it is showing normal or full level . When it is cool and below minimum , it is telling us it is time to add a little or even to the full line level depending the resoirvoir.If the full line is closed to the top always leave some room for expansion. Why is getting low is another subject. If it get low after a long time I wouldn't be worry about it. Good luck with your vehicle and the mechanics 😉

hello, my car is a 2006 Toyota highlander, how many gallons do I need to change the coolant, thank you.
@ReichpoloTech

As always consult your manual, but my manual says the 4 cylinders models range from 6.3-8.8 liters and the V6 models range from 9.4-11.4 liters. So if you purchase 3 gallons that would be enough to do a complete change. I'm not saying to pour all 3 gallons in there, but that is the max amount that would be needed for a 2006.

You're welcome. Yeah, I agree. It's just something to check on periodically with the rest of the vehicle maintenance.

Would a low engine coolant triggered the engine and vsc light at the same time ??
