2016 models and up with 5.7 engine are suppose to have 38 gallon standard now.

Only have a few complaints with this generation Tundra. First, I wish this truck had been designed to accomodate a flat interior floor (like an F-150). Additionally, I wish Toyota had given the option for the sliding rear window on the DoubleCab too, not just the CrewMax. Finally, the lack of rear air vents makes the back seats less accommodating for my back seat passengers

Agree on the fuel economy and the size of the fuel tank. My guess is why they don’t go bigger is it would reduce payload capacity which is already less than competitors. BUT , I love my 2008 Crewmax Ltd. It has been a great truck. When I purchased a TT I only would only consider a TT I could tow with the Tundra.

What you save on gas with a Ford you’ll spend twice more in repair cost.

Everything else being equal, I'd rather spend more on gas than repairs. Since you can plan for gas, but repairs can be sudden and unexpected.

Is the Tundra still in the family?

Is the locking rear diff as important if you have the 4WD model?

I would opt for a limited slip diff on a work truck. But yes, locking diff is a game changer in poor conditions when you don’t have much weight in the back.
