Thanks a lot, brother. This just saved me a ton. No tow truck and no mechanic. Not All Heroes Wear Capes.

This video totally saved our ass a bunch of wasted time and money for a tow truck. Same exact issue. Had just rented an expensive tool from HD and was stuck. Was able to get a long flat head screwdriver in-between the steering column to hold the grommet in place and drive home. Thank you for this video!!

1st i would like to thank the Lord for pointing me in your direction with this video, second I would like to thank you for taking the time to record this simple yet detailed video to help others in a time of need. My daughter was driving her 07 and she got to her destination and went to put in in park and the linkage must have come off when she put it in drive or going down the road so she had to sit in a parking lot holding the break until i got there to assess the issue. During that time I started researching and your video was one of the 1st to pop up. Long story short, thank you for helping me help my daughter in a time of need. Be safe and God bless!

Thank you so much for this video!! My finance's 2007 Tundra shifter was loose and not finding gears. We bought the bushing for $10 tonight and fixed it! Side note: you cant get the mechanism through the shift cable unless the shifter is in S gear

you can use a little E or C clip. I actually picked up a pinch clip I had in my garage and it worked perfectly

Mickey Mouse way for auto manufacturers to connect a shifter!! Getting into gear at the right moment could be life or death. Unbelievable how flimsy these connections are to the transmission!!
