So I started as a rapper, then devoted myself to jazz piano, got into jazz/fusion/neo-soul and now going back to production. It's a weird place to be but I think it's cool you went the jazz route and apply that to electronic music. Makes a lot sense when I hear your rhythmic sensibilities.

TR-8S is so special cause it reminds me of FL Studio’s sequencer. Might get it just cause it feels like the Hardware version of that.

Lol 😂 yes!!! I love this! I always say I’m channeling my inner Tony Allen when noodling on my TR-8S. I absolutely love it. So fun and immediate. Really great for just sketching out a rhythm in your head. Super excited to pair it with the Roland SH-4D I just ordered.

Yeah, I missed that you didn't change that tracks last step to stay straight in the dotted rhythm. That would be a typical poly meter thing. However. Doesn't matter at all.

It is a polymeter. 3/4 + 4/4 is a polymeter but playing triplets over 4 quarter notes is a polyrhythm.
