I'm sorry Roger. I tried, I really did. You're still my hero, for what it's worth. ☮💙 Listening to DSOM Redux is like being trapped in a horrific sleep paralysis; a dystopian nightmare of diazepine induced anhedonia from which there is no escape. And when, in desperation, you reach for the comfort of that one familiar antidote that has never, ever let you down before, you discover.... well, someone has gone and fucked that up, too. I couldn't continue past the first 60 seconds of "The Great Gig In The Sky". Life is too short to purposely send myself spiraling into such depression. You took out all the colours; as a matter of fact, it's ALL dark.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart ~ and the bottom of our COLLECTIVE HEART(s) ~ You've always been a "hero" to me, and maybe not a "war hero", or policeman, fireman, etc. etc., but for having always remained outspoken and clear about what you're trying to get across in both your lyrics and public spoken messages, for the past forty years (at least) your lyrical genius has struck a bell deep within me, and resonated... and it's still resonating, to this day. I'm happy you are able to wave away all the naysayers (and there's quite a lot of 'em, too, eh?) and stay fixed and true to your dream. Thank you for taking the TIME not only to be who you are, digging in deep and providing us with all the music and words over the years, but for never giving up in the face of adversity. Thanks for takin the time to go over your DSOTM Redux *track by track*, I'm very glad I was able to watch and listen to this video during its premiere. It's something that everyone should really hear. I've always believed in you and your messages, your lyrics -- your POETRY -- and it's a terrific vindication to have what you've done and what you DO repeatedly justified, behind brown eyes (I don't know what color your eyes are, just saying) and a true face. I've always admired that about you, the fact you've lived your life, *despite massive commercial and artistic success, mind you*, without wearing any sort of mask to hide behind. No rollerblind eyes for you, dear sir. Thank you. A million times over, THANK YOU ROGER WATERS for being true to yourself and everyone you ever meet. You'll never be forgotten. P.S. And thanks for not retiring... you are an inspiration to LIVE LIFE to the fullest, and I among many others the world over remain truly grateful. ~Shaun Lawton ~;^\~ aka "Luciferal" / "Thornswrath" / etc.

He may write the lyrics, they ARE so profound but! - Even with this redux version, the music (Which Roger doesn't play) - is classy and HELPS make this redux version a fine piece, but Roger cannot do it alone, no matter how much he tries to change the narrative......love you Roger!

I've read some comments. Here is the thing... You get material or you do not. The guy is 80. I doubt it's a cash grab because he has no reason to do so. He is accepting his mortality. Trying to share last bits with us, without saying so. Some may call the album boring, disasterous, atrocious, or egotistical. IT"S INCREDIBLY 100% EGOTISTICAL. How can it not be? Listen to what the guy has to say, or LISTEN to this new awesome instrumentation. It sucks that it's not what we're all used to. Roger has always been this way. Go listen to Radio KAOS and compare it to Momentary Lapse of Reason. He will always raise conflict and look for his own answers. His opinions are certainly not many things I agree with. But ya know, if we all have time to argue about this, we may have more time on this earth than many people who will have never had the chance to argue this fucking point. How about this? Spend time with your loved ones. Enjoy what has been given instead of so much bullshit criticism. I'll see you all at The Bar.

by creating more quiet, subdued, melancholy arrangements, more at home in a small café or local blues bar than in an arena, and substituting the celestial virtuosic vocals and lead guitar with more understated elements like acoustic instruments or weeping theramin, this rendition of the album seems like an invitation from roger for us to come back down from the moon, so to speak, back down to earth, and meditate deeply, as we listen, on the lyrics, whose original meaning may have gotten lost or muddled during the 50 years the album has been in the mainstream. listening to 'time' for the 800th time on our crappy laptop speakers or on the car radio as we rush to a job we hate through traffic, worried about getting hit by a truck, reminded occasionally that the song was always about us ('you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking...' 'only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air...' but that's another album) knowing that the original meaning of the lyrics, both to roger and to us, inevitably had to change in all this time, the words, in hindsight, together with roger's spoken-word passages, seem to lend the original ones a new urgency, and serve as a kind of warning bell against the lunacy, collective isolation, violence, shameless egotism, sociopathy, and alienation of our own present, as well as an ode to the things in life actually worth defending; reason, compassion, feeling another person's heartbeat, speaking to one another, sharing the same piece of ground as the light above us is eclipsed. we are all the lunatics on the grass, soldiers of the front rank being called forward to kill and die on behalf of the generals and men in suits at the rear, ever and ever anew being divided into 'us and them', 'with and without (money)', 'black and blue....' occasionally wondering, also, 'and who knows which is which, and who is who?' or listening in, for a moment, on the great gig in the sky, or maybe just breathing in the air

I wish Roger Waters would run for Prime Minister of Europe. Give that man a Nobel Peace Price for the work he's still doing! What a HERO
