Wow, I've never noticed a hole in my MX ERGO and always been spending minutes to grab the ball out. Thanks for the tip.

Used the logitech trackman marble when it came out in the 90's. I had it so long that I lost the ballbearings that hold the ball. I found out in 2000's that they would ship you more for free. That mouse finally bit the dust before 2010. The only thing I really wanted was a lefty version since I use both hands from time to time. Whenever I found a lefty version it was 4x the price. I finally got a lefty of the EX-G and like you I might get another one. Maybe the righty version so I can have one on either side of my keyboard. Also only $37 when I bought it. Thanks for the review and the Kitty. 281

I've been using Logitech trackball since the early 90s and have gone through many models, and M575 is a great trackball. The MX Ergo seems like a real disappointment, hopefully they'll have an update/upgrade of it in the near future. Funny how none of the other paid reviews talked about the negatives of the MX Ergo.

I’m thinking of going for the ergo just for the horizontal scroll. I haven’t tried it in person but it seems like a very handy feature when working with big excel sheets like I do.

The Elecom Deft pro and ex-g pro both have horizontal scroll as well. Their scroll wheel isn't as nice as logitech but it's a lot cheaper. I suggest you try one of those first, and return if it bothers you and go for ergo plus.

Thanks for the trackballs review...I consider to have a trackball for my convectional mice replacement, the choice either Elecom EX-G (not Pro) or Logitech M575 (both are budget trackball)...In term of the ball accuracy and comfort for long time usage, let say I use mice approx..5 or 6 hours a day. Which one will you suggest? Thank you..

logitech. However I suggest you try both, as my opinion is subjective

@@PatagonianDuck ok. Thank you for the suggestion.. Another question, how about the logitech trackball clicker durability? Since I had bad experience with Logitech mices, from the conventional mice, Trackman Marble and Trackman Wheel. All of them, the clicker gone loose after 1-1½ year usage. Speaking frankly, since that, I never look back for Logitech's mice again. So far what is the condition of your trackball M575 clicker after several months usage? Ps : I used those Logitechs normally. Never click too hard..

The MX Ergo is the only MX "mouse" that doesn't have a hyperscroll and probably the one that needs it most. I wouldn't mind any of the problems if only it had hyperscroll like it should. There is no trackball with hyperscroll on the market. I don't get that. Especially for the price of the MX, I'd expect one. First company that make a trackball with hyperscroll has a buyer waiting already.

Thank you for telling me that the Ergo doesn't have hyperscroll. I have been searching this all day. Really is a shame, I agree with you.

I'm using a Logitech MX Ergo Plus with a 3D printed base to keep it vertical, I love the ergonomics but as you said it is a pain to clean since you cannot remove the ball without a tool... Also, I do not know what kind of switches Logitech uses, but I do know that they're CR*P, every Logitech's mouse I ever owned (around 10) after a little more than a year started to mis-click with the switches registering a double-click even on single clicks and click and hold.

This is my problem with the ergo. It's frustrating having to replace my damn mouse because the microswitches fail.

@@lmaoroflcopter If you are looking for a replacement I would recommend you the Elecom EX-G Pro it's better than the Logitech in every aspect except for the somewhat limited macro customization and the ball, which tends to stick a bit more... The latter is easily fixable by simply taking out the ball and replacing it with the one from your old Logitech. ;-)
