Trucker Steve you really don’t know how much I appreciate your videos. This video and the blind side parallel really filled in the blanks for me. Now I have the missing link to what I needed to perfect these 2 maneuvers. Thank you so much!

Amazing video that gives the methodology behind the grind and why you set up the way you do and what will happen if this or that. Too notch cuide. Better than the heathens at the CDL school I’m currently attending.

Thank you for the information for the "OFFSET PARKING" technique. I'll be using this information on my test this Friday. It is offset right, not onset? I want to have the correct terms being used as well.

From the left lane to the right lane. Offset to the right lane. Best to you on Friday.

Would help instructions without lane markers. Only cones.

All the way to the left, 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand, all the way to the right, back till trailer and tractor are straight inline

If you’re backing up after your first hard left and hard right and you see your way off from your cones when backing you can make an adjustment my making a small turn from your left to your right or your right to left then find your tire and head toward the cones right?

If the trailer needs to go right, yes left then the right. If you’re set up has the trailer to far to the right, and you need to get the trailer to the left - steer to right - move the trailer to the left - You can always do a pull up to reposition the trailer.

Steve, is the “offset” just to prove backing skills? Why would someone pull offset instead or just pulling up and setting up for a straight line from the beginning? Do we really use offset backing in the real world?

You most likely right when you said “just to prove one’s backing skills “. Learning to react to the trailer moving it to the left and to the right. Thank you for your input.

@@truckerstevecdlinstructor so in a real world situation, we’re not likely to decide to offset back vs pulling forward and straight lining?

Hi Steeve, for Ex 4; when the strailler touch the 2 Yellows line , I have to turn the wheels 1 1/2 or 1 turn to the Right ... Yes, because I need the tirel touch the yellow line and landing gear toche the yellow line... so what next... please

On this video, the student had a very good setup. Back the trailer rear left tires to the line close to the cone. ( not past the yellow line) Since the student was so close to the cone, all that student needed was one full turn the right. (One full turn or 1 1/2). Backed up until the drive tire or landing pad was close to the yellow line. The next step was coming back with the left to get the tractor under the trailer. (Full left is okay- just make sure the left rear trailer stays in the lane) If needed, use a pull up then back pass the cone. Hopefully this helps.
