Having that flag handed to you is the most empty, lost feeling I have ever felt.God bless them Brothers and Sisters all,the broken, the fallen and those on watch as we speak.

My Mother and I took them for my father and great uncle. Both long after they served, but both were decorated and gave what was asked of them in WWII. It is that feeling, as is hearing taps. Used to live next door to a military cemetery. Hear that drifting through the air.

Ma'am, I've been on the other end and handed a folded flag to one of my Marine's mother. It tore me inside. Thank you for your loved one's sacrifice.

Thank God for giving my country people like your men-folks. I'm free now because they fought for me before I was even born. They thought about me before I was even a thought in the minds of my parents. They were willing to die for me before I ever lived. Thank you for honoring those who did so honor me.

Jenny, though I didn't know him, your husband is a hero to me. I had a pen pal who was serving in Viet Nam back when I was 15. His letters kept me going through the horrible abuse I was going through at home. I wish I could have met him to say Thank you and WELCOME HOME, SIR.

I'm a proud person. Raised by my dad in the only way a real man knows how to raise a child. I don't cry often and admit to it even less. But I'm not ashamed to say I cry like a baby when I hear songs about my country. My heart holds great love and honor for this land of mine. I don't defend government, politics or politicians. But if push comes to shove I'll stand shoulder to shoulder with my American brothers and sisters, march straight into hell and do battle with the devil himself to protect and preserve this dirt I stand on and will someday be buried under.

Thanks. Haven't heard that in forever. I love our Vets!!! To all the prayer warriors out there: please pray for all our service members past and present as well as their families every day. So much sacrifice given and so little pay/recognition in return. And, when you see a vet, thank them for their service.
