Mehendi, the tradition of applying Henna onto the body is a socio-religious tradition in the Muslim village of Pipara, which lies a few KMs from Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha; and then an adjacent village where tattooing is practiced among the Hindus by a lone woman of the Natuwa community.
