Shawn, I know this is an old video and that your channel has become “the mousetrap channel” however I want you to know how much I appreciate these older videos and the incredible information you provide. Have you thought about revisiting some of these topics on a different channel perhaps?

I really enjoyed this video Shawn. I had forgotten how influential Chief Compton was in early American archery. I loved listening to the history while viewing the replica arrows...great stuff!!! ...over 1,000 billets of yew!!

Hello, love all your videos! This one was great gives me an all new list of reading material. I'm from Colorado, but currently in Iceland on vacation with my wife. Before we headed to Iceland we went to stone hinge and I was able to view weapons of that time period. They had a re-creation of otzis arrow quiver and I with help from your videos to tell them that was otzis quiver. You'd a true inspiration to me and I can't wait for you to put out new videos.

I will definitely have to check out that book. I know Hunting with a bow and arrow was a major influence on me to start hunting with a longbow over a compound of course I don't make my own gear but I do love shooting my longbow. Jason

Shawn, love your videos. Don't take me for a grammar nazi, but I think someone interested in history such as yourself would like to know that "Ye" in "Ye Sylvan Archer" is pronounced "the". That's because "Y" sometimes replaces the Middle-English letter "thorn", because many printing presses did not have the specific character for it (because they were not produced in England).

I think you should definitely shoot the chester stevenson bow. It was meant for it, I'm sure that why he went through the trouble of making it, have faith in his ability to craft a bow that won't break on you.
