Thanks. I would love to have seen a slice being eaten. It's not what we here in Scotland (home of the bannock) would take to be a bannock but I bet it would be nice with a bit of custard or syrup. Our bannocks would be more of a product with rough oatmeal, water and fat/oil made fairly thin and cooked on a flat metal surface on a griddle or possibly in an oven, ending up like a hard biscuit that would last for a long time if you keep them in an airtight container. They would help to save a family from starvation during the long winter days.

I would've shown a slice being eaten but this one was going to a family for their supper. Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't mind trying your recipe one day.

Like Discworld Dwarf bread. Has many uses and can even be eaten. Dwarf bread staves off hunger with a single glance. 😂

Lol! Love all that Pratchett stuff. I have made one or two dwarf breads in my breadmaker until I got used to it! @@josephturner7569

That's real traditional bannock. Ancestors didn't use sugar, I remember my gramma made delicious salty bannock. Sweet bannock, no! Donuts are Sweet. This generation is consuming too much sugar

I was told by an elder that bannock came out of necessity when we were given flour, salt and baking powder as rations long ago during colonization. When we were forced onto small camps.
