I shot heavy poundage and light arrows for years. Split finger and would release as I hit anchor. I was successful as a hunter and at 3D tournaments. Shooting heavy for 35 years took a bit of a toll on me. The last couple of years I went to a much lighter bow, heavier arrows, 3 under and a much more controlled shot. I am definitely more consistent. The only downside, the arrows are slow and you have to know your hold and distance or your elevation can be off a lot.

Three under for anything 25 yards and under i anchor ring finger corner of mouth. But I gap it thumb and half low. 30 yards I’m tighter to nock and anchor with middle finger corner of mouth. And 40 and beyond pointer finger corner of mouth. I walked the string a lot before now I just mainly use my fingers for the walk unless it’s closer range it’s thumb and half walk and ring finger anchor. This helped me plus getting out of my comfort zone and practicing distance shots because then any can’t of bow plays a roll in your left and right. 🔪
