Hi Jason! Thanks for feedback! Actually, when i was scripting this video i watched yours on caramelized onions to get some inspiration 🧐. You really produce super high quality vids. And i really like how you use humor. It will be great to learn from you like what equipment you use, what production process and so on..☺

There's a much faster way to get to traditional caramelized onions. Look up the technique from cooks illustrated. During the first step you can add water and increase the heat to max, boiling away the liquid making the onions release their moisture and cook efficiently. Then the onions are ready to brown faster than your fast method, but also properly cooked and jammy.

Thanks for the tip! Definitely need to try this. Maybe I'll even make a comparison with the traditional version - they are very time consuming but soooo tasty. Especially with burgers or grilled cheese sandwiches ☺

Yeah this method works great with almost anything. You can fry peppers for 15-20 minutes trying to get them soft and broken down, or use this water method and do it in a fraction of the time.

@@YourEveryPicture7 I'd say make sure you don't add baking soda in the faster method. Seriouseats (and myself) found it took away from the flavor. If you still didn't like it then that's fine, to each their own.

Hello, I’ve been looking for a better caramelized onion recipe. I’ve been using the pan method but knew there must be a better method as I have had better at restaurants. Thankfully the algorithm brought me to your channel. I’ve never seen the traditional method used. I tried it and it resulted in restaurant quality onions. I wanted to thank you personally and I have subscribed. Is a borscht video a possibility in the future? Cheers.

Hi James! So glad to hear you found my caramelized onion recipe helpful and that it brought some restaurant-quality flavor into your kitchen! That's exactly what I aim for. 😊 Also, thank you so much for subscribing! As for borscht, that's a great idea. In fact, my mom cooks borscht almost every weekend, so it's been a part of my life since I can remember. I'll definitely make a video about it someday. Stay tuned! Thanks again for your kind words and support. Cheers!

I have been enlightened. I shall try the traditional method next time we have a family meal! A quick question. Does storing the caramelized onions in the fridge change the flavor, and if so then how much?
@yegortarnakin
Жыл бұрын
So glad you found the video enlightening! 🌟The maximum time I stored onions is about 2 weeks - it's really so tasty that it didn't last longer than two weeks)). It has such a rich flavor that I didn't notice any loss of taste at all. But be sure to put the onions in a tightly sealed container or jar because it's super concentrated and the fridge will smell of onions.

Why not cover the onions in the beginning to help them steam/release liquid then pour out the liquid into a bowl then use the liquid to deglaze the pan while the onions are caramelizing?
