Typically people's taste for music change through their lives and they might not necessarly end up with loving the same songs they began with. Yet when it comes to fast rythm folk songs, particularly when Julie is involved, I would surely carry my love for them right to my grave.

I am a musician and love looking at different music and my tastes change but folk music and particularly Celtic is just the most beautiful. While I listen to classical or orchestra most often, I have an almost reverent feeling for the folk music of the Celts.

This is one of my top favorites! However, when i looked up the song in Spotify, those versions do not compare even close to this version! I love the "homemade" feel. the (for a lack of better word) "Not Professional" feel. (though this was defiantly professionally done)

Bhí mé lá breá samhraidh i mo sheasamh ar an mhargadh 'S iomaí fear a dúirt liom: "Monuar gan tú sa bhaile agam". Chorus: A stór, a stór, a ghrá Oró 'stór, a stór, an dtiocfaidh tú? A stór, a stór, a ghrá Oró 'n dtiocfaidh tú nó 'n bhfanfaidh tú? Gheall mo ghrá domhsa, cinnte go dtiocfadh sí Ní raibh a culaith déanta agus sin an rud a choinnigh í Thart tóin an gharraí, a Mháire, an bhfuil an fhidil leat? Aicearra na bprátaí go dtéimid 'sair an fhidileoir ----- On a fine summer day, I was standing at the market And many a lad told me: "Shame that you're not home with me" Chorus: Darling, darling, love, Oró darling, darling, will you come? Darling, darling, love, Oró will you come or will you stay? My love made me a promise, that she will come for sure The wedding dress is not ready and that's what kept her off By the bottom of the gardens, Mary, do you hear the fiddle? Lyrics and translation I found online: Lyrics Bhí mé lá breá samhraidh I mo sheasamh ar an mhargadh 'S is iomaí fear a dúirt liom "Monuar, gan tú sa bhaile agam" Curfá: A stór, a stór, a ghrá A stór, a stór, an dtiocfaidh tú? A stór, a stór, a ghrá An dtiocfaidh tú nó an bhfanfaidh tú? Gheall mo ghrá domsa Cinnte go dtiocfadh sí Ní raibh a culaith déanta Agus sin an rud a choinnigh í Thart tóin an gharraí, a Mháire Bhfuil an fhidil leat? Aicearra na bprátaí go dtéimid 'Sair an fhidileoir Translation: One fine summers day as I stood there in the market place. Many a fine young man remarked, "I'm sad you are not home with me." Chorus: My darling, my darling, my love My darling, my darling, will you come with me. My darling, my darling, my love will you come with me or settled be. My true love promised kindly that she would surely come with me. Her wedding dress not ready, delayed her in joining me. By the bottom of the garden, a Mary, is the fiddle there? The shortcut by the praties, we'll hasten to the fiddler.
