The handle is shaped exactly like the L.T. Wright GNS.

So LT Wright copied the Chinese! 🤣 just kidding. I'm sure that is how the Chinese came up with the handle design.

Plenty of knife for the money 💰 Looks like a standard camping knife. Aesthetics wise, I agree it's not as good looking as the condor. I use Mora of Sweden and BPS from Ukraine personally for camping work. Thanks for sharing - good review 👍

I would use this style or the mora knives for outdoors as a whole; not one to carry their knife on the hip and instead carry a hatchet. I've found it easier to keep tools/knives in a bag with me reserving on the hip for things like a flashlight or hatchet etc.

i absolutely agree scandis shouldn't be thicker than 3,5mm. unfortunately, 4mm is the norm nowadays :/ [i'm guessing because of all the youtube batoners] the thinness of your curls has little to do with the thickness of the blade. it's all about technique. maybe it has a microbevel that's making it more difficult to achieve, but thickness is not a factor ferro rod scraping has absolutely nothing to do with the type or chemical composition of steel. that's important for flint, not ferrorod. the ONLY factor affecting the effectiveness of striking a ferrorod is the sharpness/angle of the implement striking said rod. and what do you mean about "tool steels"? D2 is a tool steel, just like 1095, and 5160, and 3V and s90v etc etc D2 is NOT tough in any way. it's wear resistant, but it's not tough (quite the opposite, it's very brittle and chippy because of huge carbides). it's certainly more difficult to sharpen than 1095, but what isn't? get better stones. seriously. in this day and age, if you don't have stones that make short work of D2, you should not be talking about sharpening in any way, shape or form, because you're just spreading misinformation. but yeah, D2 is absolutely the wrong choice for anything that isn't a small, cheap folder and 1095 is simply garbage tier steel. it's not particularly tough compared to the competition in its price range, and holds an edge as long as a piece of cardboard

I think a lot depends on the heat treatment. I’ve had dc53 that has been excellent and dc53 that just folded on pine. I’ve a 1095 Condor and I’ve not been too impressed with it and yes it does lose its edge really quickly.
