The first of a two part video covering traditional muzzleloaders at longer ranges, debunking the misconception that older, open sight percussion muzzleloaders are not accurate out to ranges past 100 yards or even that. Also some of the rifles that were used during the American Civil War and that they weren't what most think of the Sharps in the hands of the Berdan Sharpshooters or the Whitworth in the Confederacy. How many were in fact the same style open sight plains rifles like the Hawken and those made by Horace Dimick, a direct competitor of Hawken and whose guns are much closer to the reproduction Hawken rifles being made than actual Hawken rifles.
