Sapin-sapin is a layered glutinous rice and coconut dessert in Philippine cuisine.
It is made from coconut milk,sugar, flavoring and coloring. It is usually sprinkled with latik or toasted desicated coconut flakes.
Sapin-Sapin
600g malagkit rice washed and drain
500g thin coconut milk or water
1/2tsp salt
300g to 350g white sugar
1 kilo kakang gata
1 1/2tsp lihia if you want more chewy and firm
violet food color
yellow food color
