Though technically in Montana (but literally just over the border from Wyoming), the Elk Ravioli and Huckleberry Cheesecake at Bullwinkle's in West Yellowstone are fantastic! And I totally agree with ground Bison over steaks to get some extra fat and flavor.

Elk Ravioli??? OOOMG!!! I need to look that up. I have a wife who's second gen away from Sicily and well, she's got a lot to do with my waste line! She would love to tackle that dish!!! Thanks for the idea!

Bison and elk are a staple in our home. Sadly, Buffalo hunts are very expensive so we usually get that from Fresh Thyme grocery, but Elk is done the ole fashioned way. I and tried something new, I had to make a large pot of Chili so I did both Bison and Elk and it was fantastic! We eat very little beef in our house as Bison, Elk, Venison, etc., are far better for you in the first place.

*_Excellent list, Jocelyn._* -Very interesting that trout is only occasionally found on menus. -Rocky Mountain Oysters sliced thin, battered or dusted and fried are quite tasty to me...with ketchup, ketchup mayo or cocktail sauce. 👍 -Since there's so much beef I think "country fried steak" is a Wyoming favorite. I've had it several times during my visits to the state. Even some country fried steak "fingers." Good eats.

Cannot speak to trout in Wyoming, but I found in Colorado few restaurants served trout. Concurrently, I found large numbers of fishermen from out-of-state who camped in Colorado, bought a temporary license, and filled ice chests -- plural -- with trout they caught. Most of the trout they caught were rainbows. I think the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department farms rainbow trout and stocks the lakes and rivers with them. I found places to fish brown trout and found them much, much tastier. Long way of saying that trout are more likely to find their way into an ice chest than onto a restaurant plate. Besides, do you think the locals spend money on restaurant trout or on a fishing license?

@@hlynnkeith9334 Fishing license. 😆 Most people don’t fish for food. I’m certain the vast majority of the general population doesn’t own a rod. 😆 But to the general notion that trout is not sold in restos in Wyoming, I did a basic Google search which brought up a list of restaurants and trout reviews. Showed resto details and one “trout” quote. Jackson 15 different restos, Teton Village 4, West Yellowstone 3, Yellowstone NP 5, Cheyenne 2, Cody 3, Rock Springs 2, Wilson 2, Moran 2, Sheridan 2 as well as Lander, Saratoga, Dubois, Casper and Afton. Took me two minutes to scroll the list. I’m certain that’s just a small sample. In my experience visiting Wyoming 10-12 times trout was on many menus.

Wow the meats looked insaaane! Love all kind of ''other'' types and taste of meat such as Bison, Mouton, Lamb, Elk etc. Stronger in taste but very good! Nice video Jocelyn! Keep it up!

I loved it! But my uncle used to make various types of venison jerky so I grew up eating that more than the typical jerky.

I've always loved how you all truly experience a place. We'd go to Wyoming every year. You all try all the amazing food and see the sites. Elk is most tasty. I haven't tried the rocky mountain oysters

Eric, yes! I think that is why I like it ground best. The steaks can get tough in a flash.

Same for venison. I found that venison has a 10 second window when it is perfect. Before that, it is raw. After, it is shoe leather.

I didn't see any in our trip through Wyoming. But, if you're interested I know an excellent one in Miami and another in Jamaica.
