crossing your legs on defence especially in one on one defence is a crucial mistake... the thing on defence is to try and manipulate the offensive person away from his or her desired action.. cross leg defence means your base support is negated away from a proper defensive athletic stance, also lateral movement and change of direction is a handicap. ..my observation

What if the offensive player attacks the lead foot of the defender with a fake jab step and the defender bites on it. Would a drop step be quicker or the quick karaoke step to recover. Thanks in advance coach

if you bite on the fake, the best thing to do is to sprint(recover) to the next spot where the offensive player heading.

This whole video is wrong.Never force the ball handler to the middle that's what they want.You force them baseline n use the out of bounds lines to your advantage

if you watch it again, specifically said your not forcing the offense to the middle, this technique which is used by many pros, collegiate etc, is a way to play on ball defense. Your comment is based on philosophy and many coaches teach different schemes. Just something to think about. I actually learned this from a Hall of Fame NBA coach.
