I’m not sure of the train options in the evening, but yes, this would work for someone who wants to see Alex without a guide. If going with a guide, I recommend just doing a private transfer, since you’ll use one with the tour guide anyway when in Alex. But either way, I’m excited for the new trains, even if they’re more expensive for foreigners than in the past.

@@firstneverfollows9988 I’m not sure-anyone know the answer to this? My guess is that they’re open the normal train reservation hours, but I’m not sure if this is 24 hours or not.

I noticed at 2:54 it was showing on the sign Arab and Foreign Reservation office. I guess this means there are several prices dependent on your race and culture.

Hi Gary, as far as I know, Arabs pay the same foreigner price as well. Could anyone confirm?

@@EgyptAdventuresTravelThe price is for Egyptians only. It differs from foreigners, whether Arabs or foreigners. This is just support from the government for the Egyptian citizen. It does not differentiate between Egyptians and foreigners. Welcome to Egypt.

it is only written like this because some Arab tourists think they are not considered foreigners. It is like when an Italian inbthe Netherlands regards him/herself as EU citizen. It is written that way to avoid any misunderstanding ( a polite way to say all foreigners even of arab countries shall pay the full ticket price, not the subsidized price of egyptian nationals)

Thank you for this video. What is the current foreigner ticket price for Luxor - Cairo, and Aswan - Cairo with the overnight Talgo train? I did a Google search and did not find a conclusive answer. Thanks.

You can find the prices and book tickets online for the normal train-there is no Talgo sleeper train. abelatrains.com/Home is the website, or just google “Abela Egypt Sleeper Train”

@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Thanks. But I do see Talgo (non-sleeper?) train schedules with Egyptian local ticket prices on the official website (Cairo - Luxor/Aswan). To Aswan, AC1 = 700 EGP, AC2 = 550 EGP; to Luxor, AC1 = 600 EGP, AC2 = 400 EGP. I understand they don't publish foreigner price at the moment. enr.gov.eg/o-city/obs/enr/railway/en/booktickets I was wondering if the overnight Talgo trains listed in official website are legit? I would imagine they are but I have yet to find an English KZitem review of Talgo trains to Upper Egypt.

Yes, the Ablea website is for foreigner tickets. I much prefer the flight, because it’s the same price, and way more comfortable, and only one hour!

Last October, I tried to pay the foreigner ticket in EGP equivalent, but they didn't accept EGP instead insisted I pay in USD (which I didn't have with me at the time).

I’m sorry you had that experience. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to make this updated video. When I paid the USD equivalent, they let me pay via credit card instead of cash, so I recommend all foreigners have a visa or Mastercard with them so they can use it to buy tickets for the train and also tourist sites as needed 👍🏼. Thanks for sharing your experience!

@@julianaayuyahya I’m sorry to hear this! Hopefully they fixed the system now since when I bought my ticket back in December everyone was paying with credit card.
