3:10 that is not a U-Boat those are Dash 8s, completely different era, Dash 8s are alot newer and look way different i dont know how they could be confused

That CSX 75XX was a Dash 8 standard cab. CSX got rid of U-boats back in the late 80s for the most part.

I d say those at the beginning of your video are probably returned leased units. They will probably get a going over then be leased out again....now those UP cabs are probably going to be parts out as the cabs and electronic cabinets are built as separate units from the rest of the locomotives. Some will go to scrap...some will be reparts out ...some will go intact into rebuilds...interesting mix...GREAT VIDEO...

there is 2 locations of ltex the mcdonald ohio has tons of older units in the weeds i load my big truck down there sometimes, i havent been near the lordstown site as of yet

This is a mixed video of current locomotives being used to units to be scrapped. Same for rolling stock and passenger cars. Some of those Amtrak passenger cars, depending on their condition, could be brought back to life. So many possibilities.

I've seen many of those units as they passed through Chicago. Had to inspect a lot of them. A few were problem child's that had issues since they were so old

Makes me wonder how many train grave yards are there in the U.S.A.,and if you just stop and think for a few minutes,all those trains at one time worked their ass off,now look at them now,it's just not trains that have grave yards,theirs other types out there,that is a real lot of scrap to recycle,wonder how much do they scrap a day,lots of history in these grave yards,very cool to see,thanks for the video,have a great day 👍😀

The UP switcher at 12:38 #2685 is called a yard goat. It has a single generator that charges a lot of 24V batteries. Locomotive runs off of the batteries. Has not worked to well so far. Built in Longview Texas.

No ‘csx’ did NOT retire all their Dash 8’s ! Their bringing some of them out of storage and I just saw 3 of them in a lash up of 6 locomotives as of 7/29/2022.

I remember seeing those BNSF switchers in the Albany Saratoga area in NY I would see the green locomotives every single day I saw the Boston & Maine too And of course the D&H

The green locomotives are ex Burlington Northern NOT Burlington..you had it half right.lol..Burlington Northern is one of my favorite railroads even though they merged with Santa Fe.

Larry's Truck and Electric. When engines get real old, parts get hard to find... so they go to Larry...and they determine which can be sold, and which can get taken apart. Getting parts for a 40 year old engine is a real pain, because the manufacturers point to a new engine, and say "There's a collection of warranted parts...
