With todays modern locomotives, and a railroads ability to run MASSIVE, HEAVY trains, they do stall tackling stiff grades from time to time. When this happens, helpers are sent out to save the day, and help shove the train up the hill! Watch as helpers give a hand, and get this train moving again.
We'll focus on a stalled J15, also known as the CPBN Transfer. It was lugging a HEAVY transfer up Shortline Hill near Saint Paul when it lost the battle near Fordson Jct. After a short wait, we'll see two helpers shoving on the rear of the train, and helping it make the grade. Sprinkled in are some other shots of trains in the same area; a massive seven unit consist roaring up at dusk, GEs struggling in the rain, and a matched pair of Soo Line SD60s screaming by. Lots to see in this video!!
