TheSwoleBroscientist I’m literally gay and I didn’t even read anything gay into the way he phrased that lmao you’re seeing something where there’s nothing. Women pretty frequently also find a nice ass appealing but I’m sure you think they don’t.

@@otoyoto7153 Bodybuilding is gay bro everyone knows that. Actually, anything that has anything to do with the male body is gay. Sports are gay. Even showering yourself is gay. Why you ask? Dude, you are LITERALLY rubbing your hands all over a man's body. Gay gay gay.

Get your air at the bottom?

Perhaps to make the person feel looser and therefore reach more with the arms.
@PlutoTheGod

Bob U george leeman taught the same technique. You get your air at the bottom, brace against your knees and the belt and it helps you force yourself off the floor. It's extremely useful
@Rykurex

@@vikingstrongman5903 If anything it's easier to take a big breath at the bottom in sumo since the angle between your hips and torso is greater than in conventional.
@PlutoTheGod
4 жыл бұрын
Viking Strongman yes, but it will probably help you brace better either way. You can be loose and get into position then take your breath and tighten already adding tension to the bar just from your breath like a natural belt effect

These poor people probably left there more confused thanks to Dave than anything. I'm no expert but I hate when people overcomplicate deadlifting. Drop your butt, chest up, and keep the bar as close as possible to your body when you pull.
@lachyfreestone9311

These guys are advanced lifters, they all nail those cues. Dave’s giving them personal cues likely for their own anthropometry, these obviously differ for everyone.
@josephkiraly3904

Agreed but they need to fix those big problems too. At least from how it looks from those camera angles.
@theincrediblediblegg

You don't necessarily need to drop your butt - starting with it too low can be detrimental. Personally, my sumo is optimal if my ass basically moves horizontally.
@AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw

Because the advise you just offered is generic. A coach goes case by case with using their anatomy which is what Dave was doing
